Nvidia targets Arm’s customer network, CEO tells SoftBank’s Son

TOKYO (Reuters) – The chief authorities of Nvidia Corp <NVDA.O> acknowledged his deliberate acquisition of Arm from SoftBank Group Corp <9984.T> value an “arm and a leg,” nevertheless that the chip designer’s worthwhile group of customers made it worthwhile.
Japanese tech conglomerate SoftBank launched in September it’ll promote Arm to U.S. chip designer Nvidia for $40 billion as a result of it builds a cash pile by asset disposal.
“I wanted to pay you an arm and a leg for it,” Jensen Huang knowledgeable SoftBank CEO Masayoshi Son in a pre-recorded dialog at annual conference SoftBank World.
Huang, carrying his trademark leather-based jacket and sat sooner than a hearth, acknowledged Arm’s customer group is its most helpful asset, and that he must ship Nvidia’s artificial intelligence know-how to those shoppers.
