Twitter, Facebook to hand over @POTUS account to Biden on January 20

(Reuters) – Twitter Inc and Facebook Inc will swap administration of the @POTUS account to the Joe (*20*) administration on Jan. 20, the social media companies acknowledged on Saturday.
The @POTUS account on every platforms is the official account of the President of the United States. It is separate from the @preciseDonaldTrump Twitter account and the @DonaldTrump Facebook internet web page that U.S. President Donald Trump largely makes use of to write his posts.
“Twitter is actively getting ready to help the transition of (*20*) House institutional Twitter accounts on January twentieth, 2021. As we did for the presidential transition in 2017, this course of is being achieved in shut session with the National Archives and Records,” the company confirmed to Reuters on Saturday.
