Hackers steal Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine data in Europe, companies say

LONDON (Reuters) – U.S. drugmaker Pfizer and its German confederate BioNTech talked about on Wednesday that paperwork related to enchancment of their COVID-19 vaccine had been “unlawfully accessed” in a cyberattack on Europe’s medicines regulator.
The European Medicines Agency (EMA), which assesses medicines and vaccines for the European Union, talked about hours earlier it had been centered in a cyberattack. It gave no further particulars.
Pfizer and BioNTech talked about they did not think about any personal data of trial members had been compromised and EMA “has assured us that the cyber assault could haven’t any have an effect on on the timeline for its evaluation.”
It was not immediately clear when or how the assault befell, who was accountable or what completely different information might have been compromised.
