Electric scooter maker Niu in talks to supply Gojek: CEO
SHANGHAI/SINGAPORE (Reuters) – Niu Technologies is in talks to supply its electrical scooters to Southeast Asian ride-hailing agency Gojek to enhance market share in the world, {the electrical} scooter maker’s CEO instructed Reuters.
Niu makes scooters and bikes powered by lithium-ion batteries and 95% of its product sales by unit are in China. The agency has been sending some scooters to Gojek for testing, CEO Li Yan talked about.
“We positively want to seize market share globally,” Li, CEO of six-year-old Niu Technologies talked about in an interview. “But this depends on extra drops in the value of battery cells, which is helped by the scaling up {of electrical} vehicles.”
Honda and Yamaha are at current a very powerful avid gamers in the two-wheeler market in Southeast Asia.
Indonesian agency Gojek declined to comment.
