Tesla developing platform to allow car owners in China access data
BEIJING (Reuters) -U.S. electric-vehicle maker Tesla Inc said on Thursday it was developing a platform for car owners in China which will allow them to access data generated by their vehicles.
Tesla, which makes Model 3 sedans and Model Y sport-utility vehicles at its Shanghai manufacturing unit, targets to launch the data platform this 12 months, it said in a press launch.
This is the first time an automaker has launched plans to allow shoppers access car data in China, the world’s largest car market.
