Biden orders probe of latest ransomware attack

CENTRAL LAKE, Mich. (Reuters) -President Joe Biden acknowledged on Saturday he has directed U.S. intelligence companies to analysis who was behind a sophisticated ransomware attack that hit a complete bunch of American corporations and led to suspicions of Russian gang involvement.
Security company Huntress Labs acknowledged on Friday it believed the Russia-linked REvil ransomware gang was answerable for the latest ransomware outbreak. Last month, the FBI blamed the equivalent group for paralyzing meat packer JBS SA.
Biden, on a go to to Michigan to promote his vaccination program, was requested in regards to the hack whereas searching for pies at a cherry orchard market.
Biden acknowledged “we’re undecided” who’s behind the attack. “The preliminary contemplating was it was not the Russian authorities nevertheless we’re undecided however,” he acknowledged.
