U.S. House members introduce bill targeting Apple and Google app stores
WASHINGTON (Reuters) – A Republican and a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives launched a bill geared towards reining in extremely efficient app stores run by companies like Apple Inc and Alphabet Inc’s Google.
The bill is a companion to a measure launched this week by a bipartisan trio of senators which could bar huge app stores from requiring app suppliers to utilize alternate app stores and price strategies.
Representative Ken Buck, the best Republican on the House Judiciary Committee antitrust panel, launched the measure along with Representative Hank Johnson, a Democrat.
“For far too prolonged, companies like Google and Apple have had a stranglehold on app builders who’re compelled to take regardless of phrases these monopolists set to have the ability to attain their prospects,” Buck talked about in an e-mail assertion.
