Hong Kong protest-related website says users’ access blocked
HONG KONG (Reuters) – A Hong Kong website that publishes supplies primarily related to anti-government protests in 2019 acknowledged its prospects’ access had been blocked by city’s internet service suppliers (ISPs).
The website, HKChronicles, acknowledged it began receiving experiences from Hong Kong-based prospects saying they might not access the positioning since Wednesday evening.
“After discussing and investigating with our supporters, we found that some ISPs of Hong Kong have deliberately dropped any connection to our servers, so that the patron could not acquire replies from our servers, resulting in an incapacity to access our content material materials,” chief editor Naomi Chan acknowledged in an announcement.
The South China Morning Post, citing unnamed sources, acknowledged on Sunday that Hong Kong police had invoked city’s nationwide security laws for the first time to dam HKChronicles.
