Atos partners with OVHcloud to offer European-made cloud services
PARIS (Reuters) – IT consulting group Atos and OVHcloud are partnering to offer completely European-led cloud computing services, the two French groups said on Tuesday.
The switch is geared towards widening the alternate options for European-based companies and public sector entities inside the fast-growing cloud computing sector, which is dominated by Amazon.com Inc, Microsoft Corp and Alphabet Inc’s Google.
Microsoft and Amazon alone had a blended worldwide market share of better than 50% inside the third quarter of 2020, in accordance to Synergy Research Group.
This dominance has raised concerns in Europe that delicate firm information is likely to be insecure inside the wake of the adoption of the U.S. CLOUD Act of 2018 and inside the absence of any essential rivals, in addition to China’s Alibaba.
