GM restarting some plants hit by chips shortage

(Reuters) -General Motors Co talked about Thursday it’ll be shortly be restarting manufacturing at 5 assembly plants across the globe which have been idled attributable to a world semiconductor chips shortage.
GM talked about it is restarting operations at 4 plants throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada starting subsequent week. Two plants in Mexico – San Luis Potosi Assembly and Ramos Assembly – that assemble the Chevrolet Equinox, GMC Terrain and Chevrolet Blazer will resume manufacturing on May 31.
GM talked about its “present chain group continues to make strides working with our present base to mitigate the near-term impacts of the semiconductor situation.”
GM shares have been up 4% in early shopping for and promoting.
